Chitra Darsana Film Society

Chitra darsana Film society is an integral part of Darsana Cultural Centre, which for the past 36 years, has been the face of cultural excellence in the Land of Letters - Kottayam. Our mission is to bring the classics of world cinema and the sparks of new age cinema alike, to cinephiles. Chitra darsana has been working actively on this mission for the past year and a half and are also affiliated to the Federation of Film Societies of India. With a strength of more than 150 members, an AC auditorium that can comfortably accommodate 250 people, high quality projector and sound systems, Chitra darsana successfully screens exceptional movies every week on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM. We have screened about 80 movies in the past year and a half whilst also hosting four exemplary film festivals such as the Malayalam movie festival, Oscar movie festival, Tunisian film festival and the Children’s film festival. Fr. Emil Pullikkattil, Thekkinkad Joseph , (journalist and author) and Mathew Joseph (artist and designer) are the efficient office bearers taking up the roles as director, president and secretary, respectively.
